Your voice, CINP’s future: what we learned from the survey
Thank you to everyone who contributed to CINP’s recent survey. Your responses offer valuable insight into what you value, where we need to do better, and how CINP can support a more connected international neuropsychopharmacology community.
The survey received 166 valid responses, bringing together perspectives from current and former members, as well as colleagues who have not yet joined CINP.
Science and collaboration remain central
Asked about CINP’s priorities for the next five years, respondents most frequently selected congresses and scientific meetings (50%) and research networks and collaborations (46%). Year-round education (34%), mentoring and career development (30%), and travel grants and fellowships (28%) were also prominent.
These findings underline the importance of bringing people together to exchange knowledge, develop professional relationships and advance research—both at our congresses and throughout the year.
A stronger connection between congresses
The responses also highlighted room for improvement. Among current members who responded, half felt only slightly or not at all connected to CINP outside the World Congress. While 45% rated membership value as good or excellent, a further 39% considered it fair.
Current and former members wanted clearer routes to contribute, more regional activity and greater engagement between congresses. For prospective members, affordability and a clear understanding of membership benefits were important considerations.
Together, these findings point towards a clear priority: making CINP membership a more active and rewarding experience throughout the year.
Putting your feedback to work
The forthcoming online psychopharmacology course, featured in this bulletin, is one opportunity to extend access to learning between congresses. Initiatives such as TMS Intercontinental Day and our member interview series also provide ways to exchange expertise and get to know the people within our community.
The survey findings will inform CINP’s strategic planning, including consideration of how to strengthen education, support professional connections and make opportunities to participate more visible.
